MARQUETTE - Unable to do much offensively, the Marquette Senior High School girls softball team dropped a twinbill to visiting Escanaba on Monday, 13-2 and 6-1.

"We came out flat," MSHS manager Paul Seibert said. "You can definitely see the team that was on its toes ready to play."

In the opener, Escanaba took a 6-0 lead after three innings and never looked back. Cody Jenshak, Emily Bogaudo and Ashley Cook all recorded two hits and combined for six RBI (Jenshak had three).

For Marquette, Courtney LaFreniere posted three hits and Karlee Huuki two.

Jayme Frappier claimed the mound triumph, allowing seven hits while striking out three. Morgan Seibert was tagged with the loss.

In the second game, Jenshak gave up just four hits and two walks while fanning one to lead the Eskymos.
