MUNISING, MI. - Peter William Barrow, age 83, of 327 E. Onota Street, Munising, died under the loving care of his family early Thursday morning, May 9, 2013 at his home following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Central Lake, Michigan to the late Peter and Myrtle (Allen) Barrow. Pete was raised in the Big Bay area and then moved to Shingleton. He married Evelyn "Evie" Irene Seaman on October 1, 1951 and together they raised their four daughters. Pete was a "jack of all trades" and was hired by Michigan Consolidated Gas Company to be the caretaker at Beaver Basin. When the Park Service took over the Basin, Pete went with it. He was their heavy equipment operator and mechanic for many years. Pete retired from the Park Service. He was a member of the Munising Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He loved to travel and worked hard, always enjoying the outdoors. Pete had his own garage and was "Mr. Fix It." His daughter always said, "If my Dad can't fix it, it can't be fixed."

Pete is survived by his wife of over sixty-one years Evie Barrow of Munising; daughters Cara (Steve) Jalonen of VanMeer, Patti Barrow of Little Lake, Terri (Jeff) Merrick of Munising, and Marcia (Aaron) Hodges of Gwinn; seven grandchildren; sisters-in-law Charlotte and Donna Barrow; and numerous nieces and nephews.
