MARQUETTE - Marquette Senior High School senior Jordan Frazier bogeyed the first hole on a cold and windy day on the Heritage Course at the Marquette Golf Club, while sophomore teammate Brett Specker began the day with a triple bogey.
Both recovered, however, as Frazier birdied the second hole and Specker parred his next eight to lead the Redmen to a 159-232 victory over the Ishpeming boys Friday afternoon in a nine-hole dual meet.
Specker, a sophomore, finished with a 3-over-par 38 - the same score MSHS senior Avery Rochester carded to win the girls' meet. Frazier, a senior, parred the final seven holes for an even-par 35 to earn medalist honors among the boys.

"Jordan played very well in earlier meets, but today, he shot a great score in some tough conditions," MSHS head coach Ben Smith said about the Las Vegas native who came to Marquette this year to play for the Marquette Electricians Midget AAA hockey team.
"The course was actually in really nice shape for only being open a few days. It has been tough not being out there for practice doing what you need to do."
Scott Frazier - no relation to Jordan - shot a 39 and sophomore Nick Weber carded a 47 to round out the MSHS scorers.
For Ishpeming, junior Matt Killberg led with a 45, followed by senior Cody Kugler at 49, junior Jon Tapio at 63 and sophomore Braiden Nelson with a 75.
Team scores were not tallied in the girls' meet because Ishpeming only had two golfers.
Both freshmen, Ashley Bertucci shot an 85 and Lorissa Juntti an 88 for the Hematites.
For MSHS, Rochester was 3-over, junior Hannah Crampton had a 61, Leah Anderson a 63 and Madalyne Connon finished with a 71.
