American legion Post 44 honors top cadets in NMU ROTC program

Richard M. Jopling Post 44 in Marquette recently presented Gold and Silver Awards of Excellence to first and second year ROTC cadets in the Wildcat Battalion at Northern Michigan University. Kyle Rambo, NMU professor of military science; first-year Cadet Elizabeth Vaughn, Silver Award; Second-year Cadet John Owens, Gold Award; Post 44 Commander James Feliciano; first-year Cadet Jorgen Chapen, Silver Award; and second-year Cadet Stephanie Roberts, Gold Award. American Legion Posts present the Award of Excellence to outstanding students based on academic standing, standing in the ROTC program, demonstrated leadership and active participation in student activities.
