SAND RIVER, Mich. - Arlove Mae Ross, 75, of Sand River, died peacefully in her sleep at her home Saturday, May 4, 2013.
Arlove was born February 5, 1938 in Marquette to Joseph and Mae (Ward) Longtine. She was a graduate of Graveraet High School and following graduation from high school started taking classes at St. Luke's Hospital. Later she moved to the Chicago area working a short time as a nurses aid at Illinois Central Hospital. Arlove then moved back to Marquette where she met and married Allen Ross in 1959. She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker who in her spare time loved to sew, oil paint, and most of all loved to cook. Arlove was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Allen Ross; her son, Kevin S. (Angie) Ross of Virginia Beach, VA; her grandson, Theodore (Kim) Ross; her stepgranddaughter, Jessica Martin; her great-grandson, Otto Ross; her brother; Wayne (Darcelle) Nyman of Marquette; stepsister, Linda Ogea of Negaunee; her nieces, Danielle (Greg) Walin and April Longtine, stepniece, Tracy (Tim) Leinonen; nephews, Casey Longtine, Dwayne (Pam) Nyman, and Derrick Nyman; stepnephew, Todd (Mia) Ogea; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Dorothy Longtine; her stepfather, Harold Nyman; her brother, Ward Longtine; and step brother-in-law, Paul Ogea..
Honoring Arlove's wishes private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Marquette.
