NMU track: West breaks school record in 400-meter hurdles at GLIAC Championships

ASHLAND, Ohio - Northern Michigan University senior hurdler Colby West broke the school record in the 400-meter hurdles on Thursday at the 2013 GLIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Ashland University.

The Wildcats sit in 13th place after Day 2 with the meet wrapping up today.

West qualified for today's 400-meter hurdles final with a time of 1 minute, 4.19 seconds.

NMU junior Cheyenne Steward finished seventh in the long jump, hitting 17 feet, 4.25 inches.

Wildcats senior thrower Mariah Beaman took seventh in the javelin at 110-4 and junior Mallory Celaya finished eighth in the 3-kilometer steeplechase.

On Wednesday, the meet's opening day, senior Brooke Granquist finished seventh in the heptathlon with 2,388 points.
