ESCANABA - Avery Rochester and Scott Frazier led Marquette to third-place finishes at the five-school Escanaba Invitational high school golf meet held at Escanaba Country Club on Thursday.

Rochester shot 42 to capture girls medalist honors by two strokes over Kelsey Motto of Escanaba and Callie Jensen of Gladstone. Just three other golfers broke 50 on the day.

Frazier's 86 was good for fourth place in the boys meet, nine strokes behind medalist Ben Lasecki of Gladstone, but only three off the pace set by runner-up Kyle Pouliot, also of Gladstone. Nine golfers in total broke 90, including Frazier's teammate Brett Specker with 89.
