May 2, 2013
The Mining Journal

MARQUETTE - DocuMonday presents the film "Jane's Journey" at 7 p.m. Monday in the Peter White Public Library Community Room.

Jane Goodall, now 75, decided 20 years ago to give up her career as a primatologist, as well as her private life, in order to devote all her energy to saving her endangered planet. She has taken on the responsibilities of a UN Messenger of Peace, and has been honored with countless awards.

This 2010 documentary offers an intimate portrait of the private person behind the world-famous icon, possibly the most fascinating woman of our time, whose scientific breakthroughs are considered to be among the most important of the past 100 years. Rated PG, the film runs for 107 minutes.

There is no admission charge to the film thanks to sponsorship by the Friends of the Peter White Public Library. For more information visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
