Ishpeming man dead in 2-vehicle accident on U.S. 41

ISHPEMING - Baraga County Sheriff's Office deputies are investigation a two-vehicle accident that left an Ishpeming motorist dead Wednesday.

The accident occurred around 9:11 a.m. on U.S. 41 in Covington Township when a pickup truck driven by Randy Garceau, 53, of Ishpeming collided with a logging truck driven by Anthony Beauchamp, 47, of Escanaba.

Both were transported to Baraga County Memorial Hospital, where Garceau was pronounced dead. Beauchamp was treated and released. The accident remains under investigation.

Assisting at the scene were L'Anse Police and Fire departments, Michigan State Police, Covington Fire Department, Covington Ambulance and Bay Ambulance.
