MARQUETTE - The Marquette City Police Department is investigating the theft of thousands of dollars worth of medical equipment from a local business.

According to police, several types of medical equipment were stolen Wednesday from the rear of Wright & Filippis, a medical supply company located at 1175 W. Washington St.

Police said the equipment was stored outside the building, and two 10-inch portable ramp systems, a set of hand rails and a four- by eight-foot trifold accordion style rail were stolen. The equipment was last seen at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police are requesting anyone with information to call 228-0400.
