NEGAUNEE - Three teams advanced out of the Class E quarterfinals of the Negaunee Invitational Basketball Tournament on Tuesday at Lakeview Memorial Gymnasium in Negaunee.
Autrain Grocery of Autrain took down Tino's Turnkeys of Negaunee, 69-61, in the opener Tuesday behind 41 points by Paul Johns and 16 points from Mike Savola II. Steve Pope had 21 for Tino's while Brian Matthews scored 14.
Congress Bar and Pizza of Ishpeming joined Autrain Grocery in the semifinals with a 58-41 victory over Wilderness Recovery of Munising. Cody Kugler totaled 19 points to lead the victors while Jeff Olson finished with 12. For Wilderness Recovery, Tom Nolan had 13 points and Gary Schertz finished with 10.

In the final Class E quarterfinal of the evening, Corktown Bar of Munising routed Crossfit 906 of Ishpeming, 76-45, via 20 points by Joe Lasak and 17 points by Jarvis Goings. Dave LeClair had 12 points for Crossfit 906.
The semifinals for Class E are scheduled for Wednesday, April 10 featuring Corktown against Autrain Grocery at 6 p.m. and Mary's Kids of Ishpeming against Congress Pizza at 7:15 p.m. The championship to follow on Monday, April 15 at 7:15 p.m.
The NIT is off tonight, but resumes Thursday with two Class DD semifinals as Sodergren's Septic of Ishpeming takes on Derouin's Auto Body of Escanaba at 6:30 p.m., follow by Portage Health Apothecary of the Copper Country vs. LoyalTees of Marquette at 7:45 p.m.
The Class DD title will be decided at 8:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 11.
