EAST LANSING - The Negaunee High School boys basketball team fell 45-43 in the MHSAA Class C state semifinals to Laingsburg on Thursday at the Breslin Center in East Lansing.
With the score tied 43-43, the Miners had the ball with 29 seconds left on the clock after a timeout. Their attempted game-winning shot didn't fall, Laingsburg grabbed the rebound and the Wolfpack's final shot beat the buzzer.
Negaunee trailed 32-29 after the third quarter and 43-38 with 1:53 to play in the game.

The Miners trailed the Wolfpack after the first quarter, 9-6, and 18-14 at halftime.
Negaunee senior Tanner Uren led the team in scoring with 16 points. His bucket with under a minute to play tied the game at 43-43.
Juniors Tyler Jandron had 12 points and Eric Lori had nine points, all from beyond the arc.
The Miners finish 24-2 on the season.
Laingsburg, which improved to 24-2, moves on to face defending Class C champion Flint Beecher at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday for the state title. Beecher defeated Monroe St. Mary 73-55 in the first semifinal to improve to 26-1.
