Paul E. ‘Nubie’ Nault Jr.

ISHPEMING, Mich. - Paul E. "Nubie" Nault Jr., age 62, of 416 S. Second St., Ishpeming, passed away Monday, March 18, 2013, at his home while under the loving care of his family and UP Home Health & Hospice.

Paul was born June 9, 1950, in Marquette to Paul and Margaret (Haslitt) Nault. He graduated in 1969 from National Mine High School and that same year joined the Navy. He was a main cook on the USS Guam and on Bases where he served. Paul worked as a plumber and carpenter in the construction trade. He was an all around handy man.

Paul loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved to garden and enjoyed playing pool, cribbage and spending time with family and friends. Paul was a member of the Ishpeming V.F.W. Post 4573.

Paul is survived by his significant other and best friend of 30 years, Sue Johnson; 3 children Lisa (Clayton) Peterson of Ishpeming, Brenda Nault of Ishpeming and Brian (Laura) White of Milwaukee, Wis.; 5 grandchildren: Micheal Nault, Samantha LeMoyne, Shawn Peterson, Brandon Peterson and Lexi Thibeault; great-granddaughter Savannah Wrest; brothers and sisters: Shirley Turcola of Texas, Jerry (Iris) Stankorb of Texas, Tommy Jo (Shirley) Stankorb of Ishpeming, Jacalyn Holmgren of Negaunee, Mary Jo (Dale) Ketola of Montana, Larry Nault of Ishpeming, Carol (Richard) Steede of Ishpeming and Christine Walline of Skandia; many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends; also his cats Sassy and Rascal; and his neighbors' dog Frisky whom he loved.

Paul was preceded in death by his mother and father, Margaret "Betty" Nault and Paul Edward Nault Sr., sisters Connie Smith and Faye Darlene Nault, and brother Charles Stankorb.

A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 20 at Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with the Rev. Lauri O. Maki. The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m.

Military Honors will be accorded by the Ishpeming V.F.W. Post 4573 and the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 380.

A luncheon will be held at the Ishpeming V.F.W. Post following the service.
