He’ll be missed

March 16, 2013
Don Manty, Ishpeming , The Mining Journal

To the Journal editor:

I wanted to comment on the recent passing of a public servant who had been a resident of Ishpeming for many years.

I am speaking of Robert Keitzer Jr. Bob, as he was called by most who knew him, was a "big guy" whose physical presence was dwarfed by his huge heart.

Bob served western Marquette County for over 20 years as an EMT and paramedic. He was also a firefighter with the city of Ishpeming.

Bob passed away recently after a long battle with diabetes and the complications that stemmed from it. We who knew him and also worked with him know that this world is a better place because of Bob.

We also know that there is a special place for him on the "Heaven Fire and EMS Department."

I think that our community should stop and say a quick prayer for Bob, his family and also for our local heroes who are serving us everyday.

Bob, here is one final salute from a Brother Fire Fighter and former co-worker.
