BROOKFIELD, WI - Michael B. Beckman died March 5, 2013, at age 67, following a long battle with liver disease. Michael was born in Marquette, MI, on September 28, 1945, the fourth child of Lempi and Arnold Beckman.
Michael leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Pamela (nee Gilliam); children, Kurt and Ericka (Marcelo Bucheli); granddaughter, Camila Bucheli-Beckman; sisters, Joyce DiMaggio and Diane Rue (Bill); brothers, John (Barb) and Ron (Natalie); and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Michael graduated from Northern Michigan University in 1967. He went on to receive 2 Mott Fellowships to continue his graduate degrees. He attended Eastern Michigan University for his Ed. S., and Arizona State University, where he worked toward his Ed.D. Following a career in school administration, Michael moved to Wisconsin, where he started Beckman Insurance Agency (BIA) with his brother John. BIA specialized in Amusement Park Insurance and Michael became well known throughout the United States as a specialist in insuring Go-Kart Parks and Family Fun Centers. In 2012, BIA was sold to Britton Gallagher, where his legacy in the amusement industry will continue under the direction of Drew Tewksbury and Linda Amon.

Visitation will be held on March 14, 2013, at the Becker Ritter Funeral Home, 14075 W. North Ave., Brookfield, WI, from 4pm until the Vigil Service at 7pm. A Memorial Mass will be held on March 15, 2013, at 10 am at St. John Vianney Parish, 1755 N. Calhoun Rd., Brookfield, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Penfield Children's Center appreciated.
