Electricians ousted from league tournament at Lakeview Arena

MARQUETTE - A pair of losses Friday at Lakeview Arena eliminated the Marquette Electricians Midget AAA hockey team from further contention in the Northern Lights Hockey League playoffs.

The Electricians lost to Shattuck St. Mary's of Faribault, Minn., 3-0, before dropping a 5-1 decision to the Thunder Bay (Ontario, Canada) Kings.

Bryce Leaf made 37 saves in net for Marquette against Shattuck while Jeremy Brodeur came up with 17 saves for shutout.

Against Thunder Bay, Dustin Goupille notched the Electricians' lone goal, that coming at 10:38 of the third period with the Kings leading 4-0. Nicholas Franze and Eric Chapman drew assists.

Ryan Walsh tallied a goal and added an assist for the Kings, who scored three shorthanded goals in the contest.

Shattuck and thunder Bay will play at noon today at Lakeview Arena, with the championship game set for 10 a.m. Sunday at the Berry Events Center.
