M-28 now closed between Harvey and Wetmore

February 19, 2013
Journal Staff

MARQUETTE - Due to hazardous blowing and drifting snow conditions, MDOT, along with the Michigan State Police, Alger County Road Commission, and Marquette County Road Commission, is closing M-28 between Harvey and Wetmore.

Based on weather predictions, it appears likely the road will remain closed through tonight. Dynamic message signs in Harvey and Wetmore will alert motorists to the closure. Updates will be provided as conditions change.

Earlier, the Michigan State Police had issued a recommendation that drivers not travel between Marquette and Munising.

As a result of the hazardous road conditions, home delivery of today's edition of The Mining Journal may be delayed in some areas.
