Board certification is the industry benchmark by which physician quality is measured and recognized. Physicians who successfully complete their certification requirements demonstrate the currency of their knowledge and their ability to use it by passing a rigorous examination.

The American Board of Hospice and Palliative Medicine works to enhance the quality of health care by certifying internists and subspecialists who demonstrate the knowledge, skills and attitudes essential for excellent patient care.
