MARQUETTE - Unable to stop state-ranked Houghton, the Marquette Senior High School hockey Redmen dropped an 8-1 decision to the Gremlins Thursday at Lakeview Arena in Marquette.
Cole Hagwell scored twice an added an assist for Houghton, 18-4 on the season. Teammate Raymond Bryce added a goal and two assists, while Connor Hannon chipped in a goal and a helper.
Cole Rieboldt notched an unassisted goal for Marquette (4-21).

Evan Kyle made 37 saves in the Marquette net; Jason Wiitala came up with 1 stops for Houghton.
"We just got beat by a bigger, stronger and faster team," Marquette head coach Mike L'Huillier said, noting the Gremlins are ranked No. 6 in the state.
"Their defense never allowed us more than one shot (at a time)."
