MARQUETTE, Mich. - Claudia Rae Bleckiner, age 66, of Marquette, entered eternal life Friday, February 8, 2013, at her home.
Born August 6, 1946 in Iron River, a daughter of Robert and Alice (Roberts) Hawke, Claudia was raised in Iron River and was a graduate of the Iron River High School. Following graduation from high school Claudia moved to Marquette and enrolled at Northern Michigan University pursuing a degree in accounting. Claudia then moved to Minnesota in search of becoming a flight attendant and later moved back to Marquette where she met and married Fran Bleckiner on February 14, 1970. Claudia was a devoted wife and mother who also raised many foster children through the years. Her family life was very important to her especially the time she spent with her grandchildren. When not fulfilling her role as a homemaker she loved dining at her favorite restaurant, the Big Boy, where she ate often.
Survivors include her son, Brent Bleckiner; daughter-in-law, Jessica Bleckiner; granddaughters, Brianna and Lucy Bleckiner; brother, Bill (Cindy) Adrian; step mother-in-law, Jan Bleckiner; sister-in-law, Sharon (Jim) Seibert; brothers-in-law, Roger Bleckiner and John (Jen) Bleckiner; her faithful beloved cat, Caesar; and numerous nieces and nephews. Claudia was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Fran in 2012.

Friends may call at the St. Michael Catholic Church on Thursday, February 14, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael Church on Thursday at 1:00 pm with Rev. Nick Thompson as celebrant. A reception will follow in the St. Michael Parish Center.
