HARRIS - Bark River-Harris coach Joel Schultz called it, "a game not for the weak of heart." It was, however, a game the Broncos gutted out as they edged Westwood, 68-63 Friday night, in a girls non-conference basketball game.
There were 51 total fouls called between the two teams, Westwood being tagged with 28 of them. The Patriots lost three players to fouls and the Broncos took 48 free throws.
"Both teams were in each other's face. (The Patriots) took the early lead and jumped on us early," Schultz said.
"It was a gut check. (The Patriots) really come at you and if that team keeps working that hard, they'll win some games."
Sarah Madalinski who turned her ankle Thursday night against North Dickinson, came up with a huge effort for the Broncos (13-3), scoring 28 points with 14 rebounds and six steals.
Katelyn Harrington led the Patriots (2-9) with 15 points.
