ENGADINE - It didn't take long for the Superior Central High School girls basketball team to dismantle host Engadine on Tuesday night.

The Class D No. 3-ranked Cougars raced to a 23-12 lead after one quarter and a 46-24 advantage at the half in posting a 70-38 non-conference victory over the Eagles. Vanessa Freberg tossed in 15 points and snared eight rebounds for SC (15-0). Teammate Brooke Pasanen also scored 15 points, while Mikayla Barrows chipped in 10.

"The girls played well," SC head coach Greg Trowbridge said. "They played with some high intensity and moved the ball well.

"Our (defensive) press gave (Engadine) trouble, too."
