Douglas James Zanetti

MARQUETTE, Mich. - Douglas James Zanetti, 56, of Marquette, passed away Saturday afternoon, January 26, 2013 at Marquette General Hospital following a short illness.

Doug was born on November 19, 1956 in Ishpeming to the late Aldo and Anna L. (Bonaguro) Zanetti. He graduated from Gwinn High School in 1974 and from Northern Michigan University in 1978.

Doug was employed by ReMax 1st Realty in Marquette as a realtor. He was a member of the Upper Peninsula Association of Realtors, the Kiwanis Club of Marquette and St. Peter Cathedral.

Doug's hobbies included fishing, hunting and camping. He also had a love for cooking, music and being with family and friends. He will most be remembered for his infectious laugh, his sense of humor and his love for life.

Doug is survived by his best friend and loving wife, Jodi (Dallapiazza) Zanetti of Marquette; his father, Edwin "Chip" Mattson of Gwinn; sister, Nancy Zanetti of Denver, CO; mother and father-in-law, Louis and Rosalie Dallapiazza of Norway, MI; brother-in-law, Todd (Mary) Dallapiazza of Fond du Lac, WI; nieces and nephews, Edward and Claudia Hauschild, Staci Zanetti, Michael and Veronica Hauschild, Melissa Allie, Anthony Dallapiazza, and Charli Rose Dallapiazza; also several great nieces and ne-phews as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Doug also leaves many close personal and professional friends too numerous to mention. He was preceded in death by his biological father, Aldo Zanetti, mother, Anna L. Mattson on February 14, 2012 and a brother, Richard G. Zanetti on February 24, 2012.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Gwinn with the Rev. John Boyle and the Rev. Msgr. Michael Steber officiating. The Zanetti family will greet relatives and friends in the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the Mass.

Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy are kindly asked to consider the Marquette Monday Noon Kiwanis Club or the St. Vincent de Paul Society in Mr. Zanetti's memory.
