Backcountry ski tour offered

January 23, 2013
The Mining Journal

BIG BAY - The Yellow Dog Watershed Preserve will guide a backcountry ski tour as a fundraiser for watershed protection and preservation. Those planning to participate should meet at 10 a.m. Feb. 2 at the YDWP office, 303 Bensinger in Big Bay. Yoga in the snow aka "Snowga" will follow with local certified yoga instructor Alexandra Kralova-Zender. For information or to RSVP, call 906-345-9223 or email mindy@yellowdogwatershed.org.

A carpool will travel along the Yellow Dog River's edge. The event will include a campfire, snacks and cups of hot tea and cocoa. The day's events will last between three and four hours.

Participants must have their own ski equipment. Backcountry skis would be best, but cross country skis are good, too. Donations will be accepted and are encouraged.
