MARQUETTE - A Gwinn woman was arraigned in Marquette County District Court Monday on charges related to her alleged embezzlement of more than $10,000 from St. Vincent de Paul in Marquette.

Angie Jane Spaulding, 33, is charged with embezzlement of more than $1,000, but less than $20,000 from a non-profit or charitable organization, a 10-year felony; and stealing or retaining without consent a financial transaction device, a four-year felony.

Marquette City Police said Spaulding was arrested Jan. 8 after a month long investigation. Police said the executive director from St. Vincent de Paul came to the police department and told investigators she had become aware of an embezzlement while reviewing financial records and credit card statements.

Spaulding was allegedly using the business credit card to make personal purchases. Police said an investigation into that allegation showed that over $10,000 had allegedly been charged by Spaulding to St. Vincent de Paul's credit card for unauthorized purchases.

Police said Spaulding is currently free on bond. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in district court at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 25.
