MARQUETTE - The Upper Peninsula Builders Association announces its new officers for the 2013 board of directors.
Chris Pesola of Wausau Homes has accepted nomination as president. Tom Anderson of Window Outfitters has taken the role of vice president.
Kathy Feit of Range Telecommunications has been elected as treasurer. And Lars Larson of Sunrise Builders has stepped up as secretary. Lynn Swadley of Sunrise Builders has moved into the position of immediate past president.
Two new members were elected this year, Carol Hicks of Hicks Technologies and Pat Healy of 41 Lumber in Marquette.
The announcement follows the organization's annual holiday party celebrating the previous year's association and board members.
Incoming President Chris Pesola said: "As our economy regains its strength, the housing industry is one of the most important economy growers. The UPBA strives to keep local builders up to date on code changes and economic trends through continued education and monthly meetings. With a strong core of builders and trade associates we will continue the growth of the Upper Peninsula for years to come through community involvement and awareness."
The Upper Peninsula Builders Association was chartered in 1978 as the Home Builders Association of the Superiorland. It is a professional trade organization comprised of builder and associate members dedicated to promoting the building industry. The organization encourages professionalism within the industry, educates the members and general public and positively impacts government on building related issues.
