NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Clarabelle Sievers, 92, of Negaunee Township, passed away Sunday evening, December 23, 2012, at her home in the presence of her loving family and under the care of Lake Superior Hospice.
Clarabelle was born on February 15, 1920, in Spalding, Michigan, a daughter of the late Joseph and Lois (Cooper) Bruard. A proud homemaker, she enjoyed caring for her children and grandchildren, cooking and taking care of her home. In her free time, Clarabelle enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and talking about politics. She also enjoyed listening to Country music and was an avid Waylon Jennings fan. Special moments were spent with her dog, Jack.
Survivors include seven children, Jeanette (Harry) Hamlin of Battle Creek, Rev. Gary (Lee) Sievers of Florida, Nancy Parrish of Battle Creek, Robert (Patricia) Sievers, Jr. of Casper, WY, Clara (Robert) Cote of Gwinn, Lois Ghanavati of Negaunee and Kathleen Hartman of Virginia; also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as 10 great, great grandchildren. Preceding her in death besides her parents was her husband, Robert D. Sievers, Sr. on October 7, 1996; three children, Roy (Judy) Lee, William and Thomas Sievers; also several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 31 in the Canale-Tonella Funeral Home at 3 p.m. with Pastor Lew Pizzala of New Life Church presiding. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 1 p.m. Monday until the time of the service. Burial will take place in the Park Cemetery.
