MARQUETTE - Snow and blizzard warnings led to the postponement of all area high school athletic events scheduled for Thursday.
Postponed were the Westwood at Iron Mountain wrestling match; the L'Anse at Negaunee hockey game; and girls basketball contests featuring Negaunee at Marquette and L'Anse at Calumet. Also, boys basketball games including Houghton at Gwinn, Newberry at Munising, Gladstone at Westwood and Baraga at Chassell (from Dec. 6) were postponed. MSHS also cancelled tonight's home boys basketball game against Sault Ste.?Marie.
Thus far, two of the games have been rescheduled.
The Negaunee at Marquette contest has been set for 7:20 p.m. (varsity) on Monday, Jan. 28. In addition, the Gladstone at Westwood game has been rescheduled for 7:45 p.m. (varsity) on Monday, Jan. 7.
