NEGAUNEE - The Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter will hold a "Candy Cane Adoption Promotion" Thursday through Monday at the shelter in Negaunee. Participants may pick a candy cane and receive between 10 and 50 percent off pet adoption rates. There also is a chance to have 100 percent of the adoption paid for.
Adoptions include spay or neuter, initial vaccines (including rabies), an 8-pound bag of Dr. Tim's food, blankets for cats and gift bags for all animals. For more information or to view pets, visit www.upaws.org
The shelter is open from noon to 4 p.m. daily and from noon to 6:30 p.m. Thursdays.
