DDA talks about grants

ISHPEMING - The Ishpeming Downtown Development Authority will meet today to discuss the facade improvement grant program and receive updates on bond projects.

The program, offered by the DDA, that helps Ishpeming businesses improve their storefronts.

The DDA budgeted a total of $100,000 for grants under the program, which provides up to 50 percent of the improvement costs with the business owner providing the remaining half of the cost. The DDA will be following up and discussing a grant for 200 East Division Street at its meeting.

Also at the meeting updates on bond projects will be given. Some of the bod projects include, Malton Road, the old Penney Lot next to Congress Pizza and the beautification of the entrances to the city.

The DDA meets at 4 p.m. in the City Hall Conference Room.
