MARQUETTE - A list of necessary capital projects identified for the next five years will be presented to the Marquette Area Public Schools Board of Education at its regular meeting tonight.
The meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. inside the Marquette Senior High School Library.
On the list for this year is the purchase of two buses, the upgrading of district technology and the replacement of the Cherry Creek Elementary School roof.
The first two projects have already been undertaken, with board approval earlier this year of purchasing two buses and the district beginning to change its record-keeping from a paper format to a digital one.
Work on the Cherry Creek roof is expected to begin in the spring.
On the list for next year is the replacement of the Sandy Knoll Elementary School boilers, which Auxiliary Services Director John Kurkowski said haven't been replaced since the school was built in the 1950s. Also slated for replacement is the MSHS roof. Repairs to the MSHS pool is also on the 2013-2014 list.
