MARQUETTE - Range Bank dmade a substantial donation Friday to The Mining Journal Cheer Club, which helps collect presents for needy children who might otherwise not receive gifts under the Christmas tree.
Range Bank donated $2,000 to the Cheer Club - $1,000 for the Marquette Salvation Army and $1,000 for the Ishpeming Salvation Army. The money donated came for the profits Range Bank made this year, said Executive Vice President Roxanne Daust.
"We had a good year this year and wanted to share it with the community," Daust said.

Range Bank decided to donate to the Cheer Club because it is a great cause and there was a greater need this year, she said.
Collections for The Mining Journal Cheer Club wrapped up Friday. Now both the Ishpeming and Marquette Salvation Army offices are getting ready to set up toy stores for needy families. The stores are set to open next week.
