ISHPEMING - Unable to counteract Kingsford's size advantage, the Westwood High School boys basketball team dropped a 56-42 non-conference decision to the visiting Flivvers Thursday night.
"I'm a man-to-man guy (on defense), but we used a zone because they have some big guys," Patriots head coach Ryan Reichel said after his team had fallen to 0-3 on the season.
"We played hard, but it was difficult to keep (Aidan) Wienke and (Cole) Michaud off the boards."
Wienke poured in 22 points and Michaud added 17 for Kingsford (2-2).
Travis Swanson led WHS - which trailed but 26-22 at the half - with 14 points. Teammate Luke Duquette chipped in 10.
Westwood won the jayvee game, 46-44.

Brett Branstrom was just too much for Republic-Michigamme on Thursday night in Skyline Conference play. He fired in 31 points to lead the Wolverines (3-0 overall, 3-0 Skyline).
"He played an excellent game. He's strong with the ball," R-M coach Bill Radcliffe said.
"Two of our guys got into early foul trouble and that gave him an opening. He took advantage of it."
David Simula notched 15 points to pace the Hawks (0-2, 0-2). Jonatan Lygdman added 13 points and seven rebounds.
