MARQUETTE - Swimmers and divers from Marquette Senior High School had little trouble defeating visiting Kingsford on Thursday.
The Redettes of head coach Nathan McFarren posted a 133-50 triumph, while the MSHS boys beat the Flivvers, 109-76.
The Marquette girls won all but one event, with the Redettes' Katy Beckstrom, Katie Edwards and Logan Vear each claiming two individual wins.
Beckstrom captured the 50-yard freestyle (27.24) and 100 breaststroke (1:16.75); Edwards took the 200 free (2:27.05) and 500 free (6:45.68); and Vear won the 200 individual medley (2:35.49) and the 100 butterfly (1:14.02).
For the Marquette boys, Nathan Rotundo, Luke Sides and Sam Williams picked up two victories apiece.
Rotundo won the 200 free (2:07.89) and 100 free (58.15); Sides claimed the 50 free (24.43) and 100 backstroke (1:05.63); and Williams captured the 100 fly (1:06.11) and 100 breast (1:13.71).
"All swimmers had great swims and many personal bests," McFarren said of his MSHS squad. "Our young divers (also) performed exceptionally well and are showing great potential."
