To the Journal editor:
I have heard a lot about class warfare in the news lately so here is my suggestion on how to eliminate warfare when it comes to federal taxes.
First of all, income is defined as earned income. This makes it taxed the same as the average taxpayers earnings. That is subject to both the payroll tax and the income tax.
Next, very few individuals reach the Social Security maximum, so to insure we are all taxed the same, eliminate the maximum for Social Security taxes.
And the last thing we can do is make taxable income the same as the current adjustable taxable income on the federal tax return.
So if anyone believes as I do that there should be no special tax laws for the few, please call your representative and push for fairness in taxation.
