Northern Michigan University professor Patricia Hogan - shown with Roger Jackson, executive director of the Michigan Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance - recently received the Outstanding Michigan College/University Teacher of the Year Award from the MAHPERD. Hogan is a professor in NMU's Health, Physical Education and Recreation Department. She also chairs the department's scholarly resources committee, has written numerous publications and edits the MAHPERD Journal. Hogan has been a mentor for NMU's Student Leader Fellowship Program and has helped with Marquette Area Public Schools' small learning communities action team. She has won NMU awards for her use of technology in the classroom and for excellence in teaching.
