MARQUETTE - Northern Michigan University senior defensman and captain Scott Macaulay was named the CCHA Defenseman of the Week after posting a goal and two assists in a win Friday and shootout win Saturday against the Alaska Nanooks at the Berry Events Center.
Macaulay posted a goal and an assist in the Wildcats' 4-3 overtime win on Friday, then added an assist in a 2-2 tie and 2-0 shootout win on Saturday.
Friday, Macaulay scored the game-winner 52 seconds into overtime on a shorthanded effort. He assisted on Kory Kaunisto's second period tally, then picked up another assist Saturday on Stephan Vigier's first period goal.
Macaulay finished the weekend a plus-2 to go with four shots on goal and two blocks.
He has three goals and six assists this season and leads the team with a plus-4.
