ISHPEMING - For all the ladies who need a night on the town with their friends browsing local stores and just having a good time, the Ishpeming Business Association is hosting a Ladies Night Out.
The event starts tonight at 5 p.m. and goes until 8 p.m. and downtown business participating will be open until then. There will be a couple dozen vendors at Rollie's Furniture, live music and at different businesses there will be food, cider and treats. There will also be giveaways at certain stores where people can sign up for prizes.
"It's an evening where people can come with friends, neighbors, ladies from their church and have this fun evening of sort of roaming the town and going into all these different stores that are going to have a festive atmosphere," said David Aeh, organizer and owner of Main Street Antique Mall.
If ladies go to one of the participating stores they can pick up a punch card. If they visit a majority of the businesses and get the card punched they will be able to be entered into a final drawing and have a chance to win a certificate to use at any IBA-participating business. Aeh said he thinks it's a really positive thing, not only for the ladies who participate but also for the community.
"I think it gets people into our community from all over the county and they can see what there is in Ishpeming," Aeh said. "The idea behind it is that it's about having a good time."
Participating businesses include Morrison's Gifts, All Seasons Floral, Pioneer Square, Nook and Cranny Art Studio, Main Street School of Cosmetology, Old School Music, Wilderness Sports, Avant Gardens, Main Street Antique Mall, Butler Theatre, Picture This Art Center, You've Been Framed, Rollies Furniture and Superior Chiropractic & Rehabilitation.
