MARQUETTE - Placing seven players in double figures scoring-wise, the Northern Michigan University men's basketball team officially opened its 2012-13 season with a 129-52 win over visiting Finlandia Saturday.
Kendall Jackson paced the Wildcats of head coach Doug Lewis with 23 points. Teammate Stephen Pelkofer notched 18, Scooter Johnson 17 and Matt Iverson 15.
T.J. Cameron and Terry Nash added 12 apiece for the Wildcats, while Matthew Craggs chipped in 10.
Northern, which led 60-31 at the half, out rebounded the Lions (0-2) 57-21. Cameron led NMU with 11 boards.
Keith Arnold paced Finlandia's offense with 17 points. Jon Moore added 10.
