Eva I. Racine

GWINN, Mich. - Eva I. (Soulliere) Racine, 43, of Gwinn, entered into eternal life, Saturday morning, November 3, 2012, at Marquette General Hospital with her loving family by her side.

She was born June 13, 1969, in Marquette, a daughter of Robert and Loana Soulliere and raised in Trowbridge Park. On October 3, 1987 she married Shane Racine in Marquette.

Eva was an avid shopper and loved to find the best sale in town, buying items for her family. She was a "tell it like it is" person with a heart of gold. She helped out whoever needed her help, taking in and mentoring children, she opened her heart and home to many. Eva had a passion for her children and grandchildren and was most recently raising two of her grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed.

Eva is survived by her husband of 25 years, Shane Racine of Gwinn; mother, Loana Soulliere; three children, Daniel Soulliere, Nicholas Racine and Cory (Mellisa) Racine; grandchildren, Cole and Hunter, Bryce, Haley and Landon; sisters, Mapple (Morey) Mezo and Zhonetelle Tucker; brothers, Frank (Judy) Soulliere, James Reed and Robert (Linda) Soulliere; mother-in-law, Susan (Walter) Racine; aunt, Helen Leazier; uncle Norman Soulliere; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Soulliere; a brother, Carl Reed; sister, Effie; aunt, Jill; and uncle, Wilbert.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 1 p.m. in the Canale-Gwinn Funeral Home with Chaplain Leon Jarvis officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.

In remembering Eva's love of roses, the family requests any floral arrangements to include roses.
