Mary Katherine Beauchamp

CRYSTAL FALLS, Mich. - Mary Katherine Beauchamp, 82, of Crystal Falls, formerly of Marquette, passed away early Friday morning, November 2, 2012, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls.

Mary was born on November 29, 1929, in Marquette, a daughter of the late Robin and Helen (Imeson) Aird and had lived in Marquette nearly all of her life. She was a graduate of Baraga High School in Marquette.

Mary was formerly employed by the Michigan Bell Telephone Company for many years. In her later years she enjoyed playing Bingo. She was a member of St. Peter Cathedral and was attending Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Crystal Falls.

Mary will be greatly missed not only by her family, but also by the residents and staff of the Iron County Medical Care Facility as she always had a smile on her face and a funny story or joke to share with almost everyone she met.

She is survived by two children, Kathy Johnson of Crystal Falls and John William Kelley of Munising; seven grandchildren, Daniel, Jeffrey and Jeremy Johnson, Jeffrey Kelley, James Michael Kelley, Jr., Jennifer Hahn and Michael Kelley; four great-grandchildren, Steve, Joe and Emily Kelley and Audrey Hahn; two brothers, Paul (Donna) Aird of Gladstone and William Aird of South St. Paul, MN; also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death besides her parents were three sons, Jeffrey, Joseph and James Kelley, Sr.; a great-granddaughter, Sophia Kelley; son-in-law, Brian Johnson and a brother, John Aird.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 12 noon in St. Peter Cathedral in Marquette with the Rev. Msgr. Michael Steber officiating. Visitation will take place in the Bishop's Room of the cathedral from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Tuesday. Mary's grandsons will act as her escorts. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
