Copley named to LSH board

MARQUETTE Patti Copley was recently added to the Lake Superior Hospice Board of Directors.

A native of Marquette, Copley received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Northern Michigan University in 1981. She worked at Marquette General Hospital for 21 years, first as a staff nurse on the Surgical Unit, then as the assistant nurse manager and finally as the nurse manager of that unit for the last 11 years of her employment.

She is currently community administrator for Michigan State University College of Human Medicine Upper Peninsula Region. In her role, she assists and mentors MSU-CHM medical students who receive clinical training in the Upper Peninsula.

Copley is on the Community Advisory Board of NMU's Department of Nursing.

She has also completed specialized training in critical incident stress management and volunteers her time for group crisis intervention.

Lake Superior Hospice is a local, independent, non-profit organization that has been providing support for families in Marquette County for more than 30 years.
