MARQUETTE - The Marquette Hockey Central Pee Wee youth hockey team opened its season and Central Upper Peninsula league schedule with a 5-3 victory over McDonald's of Marquette.
Jon Jason registered two goals and an assist for Hockey Central, teammates Gaetano Cammarata and Collin Fure each had a goal and an assist, and Karsten Kamps had a goal.
Single assists were recorded by Tim Muladore and Braedyn Locke. McDonald's Hunter Whitaker and Elliot Samppala each had a goal and an assist, Sterling Wright scored a goal, and Holden Shaneberger and Luke Stenfors had one assist apiece.
Hockey Central goalie Soren Higgins earned the victory with 12 saves while McDonald's Braden Golisek made 11 stops.
