Jerome ‘Jerry’ L. Roach

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - Jerome "Jerry" L. Roach, of Eau Claire, WI, died Thursday October 25, 2012 at his home in Eau Claire following a long and hard fight with cancer.

Born on July 17, 1952 in Newberry, Jerry was the son of Lloyd H. and Gladys M. (Jenkins) Roach. Jerry served in the U.S. Army from 1969 until 1971. On September 22, 1973, he married Denise R. Hill at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Newberry and proudly raised two children, Dana and Linsey. Jerry retired from Weyerhaeuser as a Vice President and enjoyed travelling with Denise and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed having his dogs on his lap, fishing, hunting, wintering in Ft. Myers, Florida, spending time with friends and being an avid Green Bay Packer fan. His family and friends will greatly miss Jerry.

Jerry is preceded in death by his father Lloyd, and father-in-law H. Ransom Hill.

Survivors include his wife Denise, son Dana J. (Jennifer), daughter Linsey A. (Phillip) Kaufman, grandchildren Cooper J.B. Kaufman and Declan J.J. Roach all of Eau Claire, WI; mother Gladys Roach of Newberry; siblings Patricia (Dennis "Pink") Robinson, Lisa (Frank "Butch") Quinlan and John (Jackie) Roach all of Newberry; brother-in-law Mike Hill, mother-in-law Arlene Hill and sister-in-law Andrea (Robert) Marsh all of Newberry and Beth Fritz of Temperance; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Family will gather at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Newberry on Saturday November 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. A memorial service celebrating his life for family and friends will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Reverend Jesse Brown officiating. Internment will be at Forest Home Cemetery followed by a luncheon served at Our Redeemer church.

The family suggests memorials may be made in Jerry's honor to the Eau Claire YMCA Live Strong Program, 700 Graham Ave., Eau Claire, WI 54701.
