To the Journal editor:
I encourage your readers to read David Stockman's article in the Oct. 22 Newsweek Magazine, "Mitt Romney and the Bain Drain." Stockman, who was the budget director of the Reagan Administration, details how Bain Capital works and debunks Romney's claims about job creation. This, from the conservative side of the spectrum, should be read in conjunction with Lee Fang's article entitled, "Romney Family Business," in the Oct. 29 issue of the Nation magazine.
As much as each side of the political spectrum casts dispersions upon the other, both reports are based in factual analysis and investigative reporting. Perhaps more troubling is the Nation article that demonstrates just how friendly Solamere Capital (Tagg Romney's private equity firm) would be with "big government," as long as private venture capital takes off the top.
Examples about including private equity owned Medicaid dental corporations, privatized education firms and others who lobby to repeal the Dodd-Frank financial reforms, as advocated by Gov. Romney.
I trust The Mining Journal will publish this article because its readers have a right to evaluate and decide whether Mitt Romney stands for America or for Mitt Romney. Thank you.
