Volunteers lauded

October 27, 2012
Lynn Chevrette, treasurer Honor/Color Guard team member VVA Chapter 380 , The Mining Journal

To the Journal editor:

I would like to use The Mining Journal to extend a well-deserved thank you to some people who are seldom recognized for their volunteer efforts.

On Sept. 21, we held our annual POW/MIA ceremony at the memorial in Ishpeming. Although the our color guard supplies the bulk of the manpower for the event, we could never do the job we do without the great support from Kitty Kososki, as our narrator, Steve Krook and Tom Featherstone, playing echo TAPS on their trumpets, and the musical tribute sung by the Voices in Motion, from Westwood High School.

We would like to thank each and every one of them for the 20-plus years they have given freely of their time to participate in this annual remembrance gathering.
