MARQUETTE, MI. - William James Duguid, Sr., 58, of Marquette, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday morning, October 24, 2012 at Marquette General Hospital.
Bill was born on January 17, 1954 in Redford, Michigan to the late William J. and Lillian (Heinz) Duguid II. He was a graduate of Redford High School in 1972 and then attended Northern Michigan University pursuing a degree in music. While at Northern he became a member of Alpha Sigma Phi.
Bill ultimately became a career cook having been employed at many local restaurants including most recently The Wild Rover, Applebee's and Border Grill.
When not working, his interests included Detroit Tigers baseball, Lions football and Red Wing hockey. He also enjoyed off-roading and most of all cruising on his Harley. He was a music lover of almost any genre.
More than anything else, Bill loved his son, Bill and spoke with him almost every day.
He is survived by his son, Bill, of Grand Rapids. Preceding him in death besides his parents were two sisters.
A celebration of Bill's life will take place on Sunday, October 28th beginning at 7 p.m. at The Wild Rover in Marquette.
One of Bill's last gifts in this world was his desire and willingness to donate to the Gift of Life, giving others an opportunity at living.
