ISHPEMING - Hickey's I took sole possession of first place in the Ishpeming Women's Pool League with a 12-4 victory over VFW on Tuesday.
Former coleader Paradise fell to second place despite a 10-6 victory over Wonder Bar. In other matches, American Legion whipped Jack's I, 12-4, Rainbow downed Rumorz, 11-5, and Hickey's II and Jack's III tied 8-8.
Marquette Women's
Remie's Roses edged Fat Boyz 2 5-4 as the two now share the league's top spot.
In other matches, Pat's Bar beat Blue Lounge 1, 8-1, Longshot 1 knocked off Dry Dock Devils, 7-2, Fat Boyz 1 slipped past Remies, 7-2, Wooden Nickel 1 doubled up Third Base I, 6-3, Longshot 2 edged Dry Dock, 5-4, and Wooden Nickel 2 nipped Third Base 2, 5-4.
Ishpeming Men's
In Week 5 play, Rumorz III throttled Paradise, 20-4; Jack's II beat Tilden Club, 14-10; Hickey's I stomped Rumorz I, 17-7; and Jack's I trounced Rainbow, 19-5.
Wonder Bar remains the only unbeaten team after beating Jack's III, 15-9; Rumorz II drubbed Hickey's II, 17-7; and Riverside Club shelled Wayside, 20-4.
Luke Elvetici of Rumorz III posted a table run.
Gwinn NCMPL
In Week 7 action, CrossRoads Bar doubled up Jack's Hideaway II, 10-5; Cascade Inn III beat American Legion II, 10-5; American Legion dropped Cascade Inn, 9-6; Sturgis Saloon II stopped Full Throttle II, 9-6; and UP North Lodge edged Full Throttle, 8-7.
Also, Happy Hour shaded Fat Boyz, Sturgis Saloon tripped Jack's Hideaway, and Happy Hour II nipped VFW, all by 8-7 scores.
