To the Journal editor:
Marquette Township voters have a clear choice for Township treasurer in November's election. Patricia Mayer, long identified with township activities, would be a wise decision for the treasurer's position.
Pat is currently the Pathways mental health agency board treasurer. In this position one oversees the proper distribution of more than $90 million per year for the entire Upper Peninsula mental health expenditures... not an insignificant responsibility.
Under the immediate responsible and powerful direction of John Basse, executive director, and Pat's legally responsible oversight, the agency remains one of the best fiscally managed in the state.
Marquette Township is the richest in the Upper Peninsula and it deserves Pat's attention and care. Watch township dollars. Vote Pat Mayer for township treasurer on Nov. 6.
