Library offers Scrabble Club
MARQUETTE - The Peter White Public Library will hold an afternoon of the board game Scrabble from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
The library's new Scrabble Club, open to ages 14 and older, meets the third Sunday of each month in Workshop 4 in conjunction with the Traditional Music Jams. Participants should enter through the Community Room on the lower level of the library.

Students to collect bottles, cans
MARQUETTE - The Aspen Ridge Middle School eighth-grade class will conduct a bottle and can drive Sunday through Oct. 27. The drive will kick off the fundraising efforts for students' class trip to Six Flags Great America in May.
Bingo played at Little Lake Legion
LITTLE LAKE - The American Legion Post 349 of Little Lake will hold auxiliary bingo at 1:30 p.m. for early birds and 2 p.m. for regular sessions Sundays beginning Oct. 21.

Scouts selling popcorn
CHATHAM - Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venture Scouts are selling Trails End Popcorn this fall. The sale includes a wide variety of products from popping corn to cheddar cheese popcorn to chocolate covered popcorn. Microwave popcorn includes butter, lite and kettle. The sale will continue through Sunday, with products to be delivered after Nov. 10.
A new offering this year is Interstate batteries for household use, also available in a variety pack. Donations of $30 or $50 also will be accepted. Some units will have the product on hand to sell directly to customers. Order online at www.trails-end.com.

MARQUETTE - The C.U.P. Chapter of the Sierra Club will hold its monthly Little Presque Isle cleanup at 10 a.m. Sunday, meeting in the Little Presque Isle parking lot. The cleanup should take about two hours.

Rock club meets in Ishpeming
ISHPEMING - The Ishpeming Rock and Mineral Club will meet at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Cliff Shaft Mine Museum, 501 W. Euclid St. in Ishpeming.
The doors open at 1 p.m. and the program will be "Hemlock Stratovolcano," presented by Thomas Waggoner of Negaunee. A silent auction of mineral specimens and a business meeting will follow the program.

Event to aid Breast Health Fund
MARQUETTE - Lakeshore Skin Care will hold the second annual "Passionately Pink Fundraiser" during normal office hours this Monday through Friday at 307 S. Front St., Suite 115, Marquette.
